REVIEW || JOLIE BEAUTY SECOND SKIN HIGHLIGHTERS IN SAINTLY AND DREAMING

*This post contains PR items from Jolie Beauty. In this picture I am wearing the shade 'Saintly'.

I recently came across the brand Jolie Beauty on a blogging assignment website where I could apply for a collaboration to review a highlighter from this company. I was pleasantly surprised to receive two of the Jolie Beauty Second Skin Highlighters in shades 'Saintly' and 'Dreaming'.

Jolie Beauty is a brand created by experienced makeup artists, wanting to make products that are the highest quality with an affordable price tag. All products are cruelty-free and most are vegan; thus being very ethically-aware when it comes to cosmetics. I don't tend to buy any makeup or skincare items that aren't cruelty-free, and mostly I look for the vegan labels too.

REVIEW || URBAN DECAY NAKED ILLUMINATED SHIMMERING POWDER FOR FACE AND BODY

I feel like this product has been so hyped about since it came out that I felt compelled to buy it and try it out for myself. I chose the shade Luminous as I felt it was best suited to my skin tone (I'm naturally very pale). The most popular shade I believe is 'Aura' but I felt that it was slightly too dark for me, but it is very beautiful as my sister has it and I love looking at it!

I feel like it is very impractical for travelling or even carrying around in a handbag as it's very bulky - it's the size of like three of the UD Afterglow highlighters! Don't get me wrong, I think that the packaging is absolutely beautiful (you go UD!), it looks lovely on display especially if I had the whole set (just you wait, it'll probably happen haha).

As you can see in the picture above, the highlight shade is very subtle and compliments my pale skin tone, however, I feel like it's too light for me as I do enjoy an intense highlight. For the price tag of £24, I expected a lot more from this product than what is offered, so I am very disappointed in the colour payoff as it's nowhere near as good as the Aura shade which is annoying, but then again it's my own fault for buying a product without looking into it first or giving it a swatch! If you're seriously thinking about buying this highlighter then I suggest you try it out in-store - ask a staff member to put some on for you or even swatch it at the back of your hand. Learn from my mistake!

Have you tried the Naked Illuminated Highlighters? If so, would you recommend it?

Sleek || Highlighting Palettes

Good Evening Everyone!

I have never tried any Sleek products before until recently when Superdrug had an offer on Sleek cosmetics 2 for £10. The palettes cost £9.99 each, so practically I got one for free. I also bought two blusher palette, but I'll mention it in a different post as today I'm going to focus on these two beautiful highlighter palettes.

I think the packaging itself made me want to buy these! The gold palette looks limited edition, as the black matte one reminds me of Nars' packing.
Midas Touch - this is a limited edition high listing palette. Weird as the gold one looks more like a limited edition product, right?
Solstice highlighting palette.
As you can see there are four different highlighters to choose from - Solitaire, Tanzanite, Rhinestone and Cubic Zirconia. They are all beautiful shades, but the one that caught my eye the most was Rhinestone - it is a BEAUTIFUL shade, definitely my favourite! It looks amazing with a dark smokey eye for a night look - I would avoid wearing it during the day as some might find it a bit too much!
Swatches l-r = Solitaire, Cubic Zirconia, Rhinestone and Tanzanite. As you can see they are very pigmented and you don't need a lot of product in order to achieve the perfect glow!
So this palette is a bit more sensible haha. It is suitable for all skin tones and seems appropriate for any occasion. I mainly bought this palette because of the packaging (I know, I'm really naughty). However I recommend this palette for beginners and lovers of Benefits' High Beam as the shade Ecliptic looks identical on skin but is only a little thicker consistency.
Swatches l-r = Subsolar, Equinox, Hemisphere and Ecliptic. Yet again, these are very pigmented and I only pressed on the product slightly.

What highlighter do you use? Have you tried any of the Sleek highlighters?

Lots of love,
Maya xo
