REVIEW || AVEDA SHAMPURE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER - USED ON FINE AND STRAIGHT BLONDE HAIR

I had absolutely no idea what Aveda was until I started working in the beauty industry back in 2017. I thought that paying £15.50 for a bottle of shampoo was absolutely insane, especially as the matching conditioner cost £17.50 - that's £33 for a couple of essential items I will need to repurchase in 3-4 month's time anyway. We don't really bat an eyelid when we pay £10 for a bottle of wine that'll last around 2 hours, so why deny ourselves a luxurious hair care item that'll last much longer and won't give us a headache the next day?

Aveda's Shampure collection is formulated without any parabens, phthalates or to simply put it - it has no plastic in the products which is the main ingredient in most drugstore shampoos and conditioners and is the main reason for congested and flaky skin.

This range is gentle enough to use on babies from 6 months+ - so you can only imagine how gentle it'll be to your scalp and hair. I have a sensitive scalp that is often congested and flaky from dryness. My hair also tends to get greasy pretty quickly with dry ends. Finding the perfect shampoo and conditioner has been a long task that I am still in the middle of completing. Don't get me wrong, I really like this range from Aveda, however, it isn't the perfect set for my hair type.

I find that my hair feels very clean and lightweight when using this set, but it still gets greasy quite quickly. My scalp felt hydrated and less irritated than normal when using this range. The smell is mild and rather pleasant, it doesn't bother me at all. The consistency of both products is rather thick so a little goes a long way. I also use the Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair and Aveda Thickening Tonic to style and protect my hair from heat which are staple products in my haircare routine.

I think that perhaps the Sap Moss range was better suited for my hair type, but I also liked the Scalp Benefits range too. The best thing to do is to do your research and go by your hair type. If your hair is dry and curly then go for Dry Remedy or Be Curly. If you go to your local Aveda counter/store you will receive a full diagnosis and consultation (restrictions may be applied at the moment due to Covid-19).

So now, you must be asking yourself if the Aveda Shampure shampoo and conditioner is worth your money? Well, to put it bluntly - yes it is. At £33 for the set that'll last around four month's time, it is definitely worth it for the results you'll get. A clean and hydrated scalp is what we all want, right?

Have you tried anything from Aveda before? If so, what were your thoughts?

  1. This seems great! Haircare is something that I don't massively invest in; and not sure why really - it should be top priority as it can boost your confidence tenfold. Thanks for sharing this review!
