Everyone and their mum knows about the Pixi Glow Tonic, but maybe feel a bit sceptical about trying it out as it contains glycolic acid that can be a bit too strong for some to use.
The first time I got to try this tonic was when my dear friend, Sophie, gave me some of her travel-sized bottle to try out. At first, I didn't see any results, but that might have been due to the amount I used and not being consistent enough. Now, I use the glow tonic twice a day after cleansing and have noticed amazing results - keep on reading to find out more
At first, I felt a bit of tingliness every time I used it until my skin became a bit more resilient and accepted the product. Personally, I like to use this tonic twice a day after cleansing (I'm currently using this face wash) applying it all over my face including ears and neck, but I try to avoid the eye area as it is rather tingly and stings when near the eye.
Before using the glow tonic my skin was dull, oily and had dry patches. A few weeks of using this product twice a day I have noticed my skin had become brighter, more luminous and smooth. I still get oily throughout the day, and I don't think that there's been any change in that since using this tonic but there might still be some improvement in that area in the future.
If you are worried about the strength of this toner, please try it out by patch-testing first. This means that you can test the product out in one area of your skin to see if it will cause a reaction. This shouldn't happen as it doesn't contain any harmful ingredients, and the glycolic acid amount is only 5% which is not too strong yet very effective.
After 6 weeks of constant use, I can say that this is my favourite toner for brightening my skin and I use it with the Garnier Rose Water Mist to soothe the skin after. I also make sure to use a hydrating serum and moisturiser to ensure that my skin doesn't feel dry or dehydrated - a facial oil is also a great addition to your skincare routine, especially when using this toner.
You can buy the Pixi Glow Tonic here from £10 for 100ml. I would recommend buying the supersize when it is available (best deal for your money), although you should probably try the smaller size first to see how it works on your skin.
This product is so great, it featured in my January Favourites post. It is definitely worth every penny if you are after a skincare product that will make you glow brighter than a star ;)
