LIFESTYLE || CELEBRATING VALENTINE'S DAY AT HOME

My usual plans for the *day of love* are either having a takeaway and watching a new movie or going to the cinema and out for a nice lunch or dinner (ah, those were the days).
This year won't be much different as we're not big celebrators of this holiday, but I still like to make some effort.

A lovely home-cooked meal is always a great idea, especially if you're both cooking your favourite dinner together! Mexican food is always a great idea if you're a fan of spicy food, I rarely make enchiladas so they would be a great option for us. A chocolate pudding is definitely a must, so if you're looking for an easy to follow recipe for a melt-in-the-middle pudding then check out this one.
But then again, you might feel like getting a takeaway instead which is also a lovely treat for everyone as you won't have to cook and can get some lovely food! Why not try a new takeaway near you? Or even an all-time favourite that the whole family will love?

If you fancy a nice meal but don't want to cook or spend a lot of money then one of those special meal deals might be a great idea. I have seen them in most supermarkets for under £15 and they often include a 3-course meal and a bottle of wine which is great if you're not in the mood for cooking and on a tight budget.

If you are spending Valentine's Day with your family or alone then you must have a movie marathon! My favourite movies to binge-watch are Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings or you can go down the lovey-dovey route of Sex and the City, Pretty Woman, and anything that was based on a Nicholas Sparks novel.

My plans for Valentine's Day this year will consist of eating lots of chocolate, ice cream and strawberries all day long, followed by one of my favourite meals - Thai seabass with rice, fried egg, lettuce and seafood sauce (this meal is absolutely beautiful). There are also a few new films out on Sky (originals) which are on my watchlist that I will definitely be spending hours watching on Sunday!

If you still haven't found the perfect gift, then check out my Valentine's Gift Guide here.

Lots of love,
Maya xo
