2016 || March Favourites

Hi Everyone!

I know, it's sooo late to do a March Favourites post but it's better to post late than never! I've been loving drugstore products lately and thought I'd share the most used ones with you today.

l-r : Makeup Revolution Contour Palette (£3.50), Sleek Highlightinh Palette (£9.99), Maybelline Great Lash Mascara (£4.99), Maybelline Colour Tattoo (£4.99 each), Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer (£5.49) and Extreme Felt Tip Liner (£2.50).

You can read a full review of the Sleek Palette here, and the Maybelline Mascara here.

I have especially been loving Makeup Revolution as a brand for the past few weeks. They are so affordable and the new items they keep coming up with are to die for! For instance, this contour palette only cost me £3.50 from superdrug and it comes with a matte bronzer (very similar to Benefit's Hoola), a soft highlighter and a peachy blush. 3 in 1! It's quite small as well which makes it perfect size for your makeup bag to keep it with you on the go.

The two Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream Eyeshadows will take over my life - I swear! I adore MaC's Paint Pots, but these are the next best thing and for such a low price compared to MAC's pricey £16 per pot you can't go wrong. I am looking forward to expanding my collection as they are so easy to blend and wear that I need more colours!

I'm not the biggest concealer user, however this one has taken my breath away with its coverage and luminosity in one! I love to use it under my eyes to brighten up my face, however the only issue I have with this concealer is that I use the lightest shade and it's still not as light as I'd like it to be :(

I picked up Collection's Extreme Liner as I wanted to try out a new felt tip liner because I'm getting bored of my MAC Blacktrack gel liner. This one is really dark and long lasting, however I've noticed that it smudges easily. If I find one that's waterproof I'd definitely buy it, but for not this one does the job just fine as long as I don't touch my eyes or let them water!

What have you loved last month? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned above? If so, how did you get on with them?

Lots of love,

Review || Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Blackest Black

Good Morning Everyone!

I know I might be a bit late but I've recently bought the highly rated Maybelline Great Lash Mascara and I am amazed by it! I'm not easily pleased when it comes to mascaras as my eyelashes are really fair and it's hard to get full coverage without making my lashes look clumpy. I have recently been loving Benefits They're Real mascara and as I'm running out of it I thought I'll purchase a few drugstore mascaras to try out.

I don't really like the packaging. It's different to most of Maybelline's mascaras as the shape of the bottle - I guess it's a bottle? Is much different to their usual spike shaped ones. I was a massive fan of the Collossal mascara and heard a lot of positive reviews of the Great Lash mascara.

I do quite like the colour of the packaging - it's different and the colours seem perfect for this time of year. It is quite small, therefore perfect size to pop in your makeup bag or take with you on holiday.

I chose the shade 'blackest black' as like I've said before, I like my lashes super dark as they're naturally fair and when I get them tinted it doesn't last long.

I really like the brush as it's not too thin and not too big and gives perfect coverage on all types of lashes. I personally prefer to use it on my top lashes rather than my bottom ones as I find it that it leaves product on my waterline and is a bit untidy but that's my personal opinion and pet peeve when it comes to mascaras!

The bristles are spread quite far apart  which you'd expect to clump your lashes, however it actually somehow spreads them apart and makes them look thicker. All I can really say is that for the ridiculously low price of £4.99 everyone should own this mascara at some point in their life as it really is amazing. A storing 9/10, well done Maybelline! You've done it again!!

Have you tried this mascara before? What's your favourite Maybelline product?

Lots of love,

OOTD || Quick And Smart Uni Outfit

Good Morning Everyone!

What's a better start to a Friday than a nice and easy OOTD post! I thought I'd do a quick fashion post before my seminar this morning to share with you my quick go-to uni outfit.

I usually put an outfit together the night before so I don't have to rummage through my wardrobe in the morning and stress myself out because nothing goes together - I'm pretty sure we've all been there, right?! However, today has been a bit of a long morning already as I did my hair and makeup quite quickly (it usually takes me over an hour to get ready in the morning) so I thought I'd quickly put an outfit together.

I decided to put on a plain pair of Topshop's black skinny jeans. And what goes better with plain skinnies other than a shirt? A pyjama shirt! Yup, you read it correctly - I am wearing a pyjama shirt. Don't get me wrong, I didn't sleep in it! But it's so beautiful and the silky material makes it ever so wearable! I bought this beautiful shirt with matching bottoms (obviously) from River Island. To style up my outfit I decided to put on my gorgeous Michael Kors watch and Pandora and H&M rings and bracelets. The shoes I went for are my trusty and comfy pointy lace-up ballet flats (there's a mouthful) which I had bought from Primark for only £8! £8!!!!!

What's your favourite simple but classy outfit?

Lots of love,

Review || Pil'aten Black Head Pore Strips

Good Morning Everyone!

Who doesn't love a good old pamper day! I try to exfoliate and do face masques twice a week as I find that wearing makeup every day takes its toll out on my skin. My favourite products for exfoliation is the St Ives Apricot Scrub and any of the Clean&Clear scrubs. Before applying proper face mask I use black pore strips which are fantastic for clearing and opening up the pores. As you can see, I have already used a few which is enough for me to review this product thoroughly.

Like I said, you get 10 masks in a pack for less than £2! Bargain of the century or what? Not everyone can afford Biore strips which are sold for around £6 which come in a pack of 6 sachets. This rounds up to £1 per strip (you only get nose strips). I don't know about you, but I do love a bargain, and that is exactly what you get if you buy Pil'aten products.

The consistency of this mask is very smooth and thick so when you apply it you have to be careful as it goes everywhere and is quite hard to wash out. It has to be rubbed into your pores for best effect and then you should wait until the mask starts to peel itself off as this tells you that the dirt is ready to pop out of your skin - sounds grim, I know. Once the mask dries you should peel it off slowly from the bottom up in order to get as much dirt out as possible. Just to warn you - it does pull out little hairs too, so if you have really sensitive skin I wouldn't recommend this as it might leave you with some inflammation. I personally love to look at the mask after I peeled it off as it shows me how much dirt it got out of my skin and it is just satisfying!

Did I mention that you can apply this mask all over your face? Well, you can! It doesn't come in a form of a strip which I thought it would, making it easier to target the areas you really want to clean - such as the T-zone and chin, cheeks etc. It is hands down the best mask I've ever used in my life so far and I will never stop re-buying it.

What skincare products do you use? Have you ever tried pore strips?

Lots of love,
Maya xo
