TRAVEL || WHAT TO DO IN RHODES, GREECE?

Hey Everyone!

I've been battling with post holiday blues for two weeks now and I couldn't be more upset about not being out and about in the sunshine with my second half. However, I do have a few things to look forward to now that I'm back home, such as more time for blogging, working overtime to save up for the next holiday, and also planning a garden party!

In this post, I will share with you the places I visited while in Rhodes and what to do when you get there.

This picture looks so spontaneous but I actually knew Kieran was snapping a pic as he told me not to move! Oops! This was taken at the beautiful Oasis beach in Calithea. There are three beaches there that you just HAVE to visit - do it, you won't regret it.

We also went to the Butterfly Valley (Peta Loudhes) which was a m a z i n g. Even though I was very timid the whole time I was there, it was a wonderful experience as I had never seen so many butterflies in one place. You probably won't believe this, but as I walked down the hill in my big floppy hat, I must have touched the wall where the little creatures were resting AND THEY ALL FLEW INTO ME! I am not joking - there must have been hundreds of Red Admiral butterflies around me and I screamed and ran off. Yup, I ran off because I'm a scaredy cat and don't like no bugs near me!! I'll add pictures of the little ones in an upcoming post, so stay tuned!

We visited the famous 'Seven Springs' which is a beautiful forest on a mountain with 7 streams with drinkable water. This is perfect for those without children as you have to climb up quite high in order to see all streams and the animals that live up the mountains. We saw goats, ducks, swans and peacocks. I think the peacocks made me the most excited about the whole trip! The bus there and back only cost us 5 euros each, which is an amazing bargain.

Another beautiful place to visit is Calithea Springs - an old spa with cute little fountains everywhere. It's around 3 euros each way to get there and another 3 to get in, so it is best if you go there for a whole day as the city of Calithea has 3 beautiful beaches that Kieran and I had also visited.

You cannot go to Rhodes and not go on a boat trip to Lindos - it'll be just like committing a crime! We paid 25 euros each for the trip there and back, unfortunately[ snacks and drinks weren't included in the price so I suggest you bring your own with you as the products sold on the boat were quite pricey! Thankfully we brought our cooler bag with us and packed it with sandwiches, snacks, and drinks!

Another important point I have to make about Lindos is that it looks exactly like Santorini!! I couldn't believe my eyes when we finally got there, it was so beautiful and I cannot wait to go back there again.

The gorgeous boats by the Lindos bay looked so cute I had to take a picture. What is a holiday without going on one of these and just keep swimming!

Make sure you go for a long walk down the strips and visit all the shops so you can find the best deal on souvenirs. I walked around every single shop at least twice before making my mind up on what to get for everyone! You can call me crazy, but I had to save money somehow!

Are you planning on going abroad this year? If so, where are you off to? Let me know in the comments down below!

Review || Benefit Goof Proof Pencil & Ready, Set, Brow! First Impressions

Hi Everyone!

Who hasn't been excited about the launch of Benefit's new brow products range? Come out right now and I'll change your mind with this review.

I've always been a big fan of Benefit's packaging, I mean look at the boxes! They're so beautiful and make me want to keep my products in them for display haha!

Yet again, I'm very impressed with the actual packaging of the products. It is very classy, yet funky - just like all of Benefit's products.

Goof Proof Brow Pencil - I'm really impressed with this product, however I do wish that the magazine included more shades of this product (think I picked it up with Elle). I think I'd have to settle for either the lightest shade or the one shade darker. This one is actually the darkest shade and I think it would look perfect on someone with dark brown/black hair, but as I had recently tinted my eyebrows a dark shade, this one was a perfect match.

Ready, Set, Brow! - OMG, I can't stress enough about this product. It is a m a z i n g !!! It's a clear brow gel and you only need the smallest amount to set your brows. When I used it for the first time I definitely over used it as my eyebrows felt sooo stiff it was so hard to get the product out at the end of the day! Therefore, I do suggest that you use this sparingly and after you've filled in your brows.

Have you tried Benefit's new brow range? If so, what products did you manage to get your hands on?

Lots of love,

Review || Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipsticks + Swatches

Good Morning!

I've never been the biggest fan of Makeup Revolution Lipsticks but because I love their palettes so much I thought I'd give the lippies another go. I decided to buy a pack of 5 lipsticks for £4 from Superdrug and I really loved the colours. I didn't expect much for the price, so tune in and take a look at the swatches.

Left-right: Depraved, Crime, Felony, Vice and Immoral.

Crime - a bold fuchsia shade. I applied two coats of this lipstick and I was really impressed with the pigment. I'm big for pink lips and I really liked this shade, however it felt waxy and rubbed off quite quickly, so I think a layer of Lipcote would help it stay in place all day.

Depraved - a bright electric purple shade. It is quite easily wearable, especially teamed up with a strong winged liner (purple is the new red, right?). I found this one quite sheer and had to apply a few layers to my lips in order to get a bold colour, however I was very happy with how it ended up. P.S. Don't mind my dry lips! I had a really bad skin day while taking these photos.

Immoral - a sky blue shade. This shade reminds me of Jeffree's Jawbreaker however it's not quite as pigmented haha!! As you can see the colour is gorgeous, however it was really hard to get the colour to show up well on my lips. You can even see how waxy it looks, and how many layers I had to apply.

Vice - a true "orange" orange. I love an orange lip, especially around this time of the year. I think it really adds to a 'boring' every day nude look, so swap your nude lip for a brighter shade like this one. The colour showed up really well, and the shine added a bit more 'oomph' to my every-day look.

Felony - an unusual dirty yellow shade. It is really nice, especially if you look at the bullet, however once it's swatched it looks a lot more 'dirty' rather than bright. It's not very wearable, however it'll be nice as an ombré, especially teamed up with 'Vice' or applied over a cool toned lipstick to add a bit more warmth to the colour.

Overall, I would rate these lipsticks a 6/10 as the pigment is there, and they stay on a fair amount of time, but the waxiness of them and unusual colours are what have brought the score down. Personally I think I will mostly use the shades Crime and Depraved the most, and the others will have to wait for a special occasion.

Have you tried any of the Makeup Revolution lipsticks? If so, what did you think and which ones are your favourite?

Lots of love,
Maya xo
