Review || Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lips & My Thoughts On The Drama With Kat Von D

Hey Beauties!

Who doesn't own a Jeffree's Star lipstick yet? Well, you need one in your life because they will change it forever.

The first shades I bought were Redrum and Breatfast At Tiffany's, which then the family grew bigger as Celebrity Skin joined along with Masochist and Androgyny a few weeks later.

I love the fact that Breakfast At Tiffany's has got the lipstick colour on the sticker, it's so cute and adds a touch of sophistication to the collection. I can't wait to get the new Summer collection shades!

I love the packaging, it's really punk rock with the stars and the bright pink. You can see the colours of the lipsticks too which I find very helpful. I hate having to check every one of my MAC lipsticks to find Velvet Teddy or Whirl - no matter how many times I reorganise the stand.

I absolutely love the formula of these, it's very wet and velvety (sounds weird, I know) but it applies so well. I feel like I only need one layer of the lipstick for the colour to show which is a m a z i n g!
This means it will last you forever, well scratch that - it'll last you longer than majority of liquid lipsticks as you won't need to apply many coats. Also this is very long wearing, I feel like it lasts all day without having to reapply (depending on what shade you're wearing).

T-B: Celebrity Skin, Androgyny, Breakfast At Tiffany's, Masochist and Redrum.

Right, let's get straight to the whole Jeffree, Kat and BJ drama. Have you all seen the posts and videos? I watched them all and read other people's comments to try and figure out what has gone off. Basically, BJ had rung Kat saying that back in the day when Jeffree was setting up his business he asked BJ to design a logo which he did NOT use as he thought BJ was too expensive for him at the time seeing as he invested all his money into his brand so he did not use BJ's artwork therefore did not pay him. Kat then went on and sent a text to Jeffree demanding answers on the whole situation which Jeffree explained in the text. He said he did not use BJ's services therefore did not pay him at the time but he has now so everything was fine between the two - however, Kat maliciously told the Too Faced producers in the warehouse that Jeffree tried to steal her ideas. This, I think is nasty! Why would you say something like that about one of your close friends? Even if it were true, then surely she would have spoken to Jeffree about it first? Seeing as that's what friends do in conflict - they talk things out.

She then went on and bashed him in her video here, saying that he's a racist bully who promotes drug use. I'm sorry, but you cannot judge someone by their past. Jeffree is a completely new person to who he used to be many years ago and he had apologised for his previous behaviour. We all make mistakes and wouldn't want to be judged by them, so why did Kat feel the need to say those things about him? About the drug use - he smokes legal marijuana and doesn't promote it - he's open about his lifestyle and it's beneficial for him as he suffers from anxiety and marijuana helps him fight it.

At the end of the day, both Kat and Jeffree are amazing entrepreneurs and hold very successful makeup brands, however I am definitely on #TeamJeffree as I believe that Kat should not have spoken out about the situation publically but tried to resolve their issues between the pair.

Do you own any of Jeffree's cosmetics? If so, what do you have or would love to own?! And what are your thoughts on the Kat-Jeffree drama?

Lots of love,

Review || Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave Eyeshadow Palette+ Swatches

Hi Everyone

When I heard all about the British Beauty Blogger collab with Makeup Revolution I got so excited! I think this was the most spoken about the palette in the UK at the time - and to be honest, still is. I was a bit late to join the bandwagon and have finally bought this palette back in April and have not yet had the chance to experiment with all colours, however, I have swatched them for this review.

You can tell how sophisticated this palette is just by looking at the box. I mean, the colour of it - a gorgeous deep copper-gold shade just wants to be bought to look at, let alone to use.

If you're unsure about the shades and somehow there isn't a tester available then just look at the back of the box. It has all the shades shown on the back of it so you know that you're about to spend little on something life-changing.

Damnnn, just look at it! The packaging is perfect, the colours are perfect, even the names for each shade are perfect!

I have swatched all shades dry and directly onto my arm as I wanted to see their true pigment. Some show up really well, and some don't show up at all. However, when I tried them on using a damp brush all shades showed up perfectly and I couldn't be happier with the results.

l-r: Glimmer, Buffer, Peachy, Hope, Fortune, Skylight, Transformer, Midnight Rainbow.

l-r: Ice Cloud, Golden Coins, Cashmere, Tip Top, Yes Please, Green Machine, Smoothie.

l-r: Caffeine Fix, Latte, Pink Diamond, Creme, Drama Queen, Lonely Planet, Blacqua.

l-r: Soft, New World, Favour, Sunset Hour, Super Gold, Winning, Brave, The Revolution.

I found that the majority of the matte shades were less pigmented than the ones with other finishes however, I'm still glad I had bought this palette. I mean, the shades will create so many beautiful looks, especially in winter but I am slightly disappointed with the formula. There seems to be a lot of fallout after dipping the brush in, but what did I expect for £10?

Overall, I think this palette is amazing and totally worth every penny spent on it. Congratulations to Makeup Revolution for yet again, surprising us all with an amazing product. Keep it going, guys!

What are your thoughts on this palette? Have you tried creating any looks with it?

Lots of love,

Review || Benefit Ultra Plush Lipgloss In Poutrageous! & Kiss You

Hello Beauties!

On my recent trip to Rhodes (You can read my post here), I went into Sephora hoping to pick up some Anastasia Beverly Hills products, however to my disappointment the store was very messy and disorganised with only a few things stacked up on the ABH shelf and all of them in unwanted shades.

However, they did have an amazing offer on these Benefit Lipglosses which I had my eyes on for quite some time now - they were 50% off! I bought the two for €10 each which is around £8! Woo Hoo go me.

I picked up the shades Kiss You and Poutragous!

Kiss You is a purple fuchsia shade which will look amazing on top of MAC's Up The Amp, or on its own as it's really pigmented.

Poutragous! Is a very lovely bright coral shade which is perfect for the summer.

Both of these smell amazing and don't feel sticky at all. I feel like I could wear these all year long as the colours are so versatile, however, I do find it hard to wear lipgloss when it's windy as my hair gets stuck to my lips! :(

Overall, I love the colours of these glosses, the consistency and the scent. These are a definite 9/10
and I recommend them to all of you!

If any of you have any tips on how to wear gloss in the summer please let me know!

Lots of love,
Maya xo

TRAVEL || WHAT TO DO IN RHODES, GREECE?

Hey Everyone!

I've been battling with post holiday blues for two weeks now and I couldn't be more upset about not being out and about in the sunshine with my second half. However, I do have a few things to look forward to now that I'm back home, such as more time for blogging, working overtime to save up for the next holiday, and also planning a garden party!

In this post, I will share with you the places I visited while in Rhodes and what to do when you get there.

This picture looks so spontaneous but I actually knew Kieran was snapping a pic as he told me not to move! Oops! This was taken at the beautiful Oasis beach in Calithea. There are three beaches there that you just HAVE to visit - do it, you won't regret it.

We also went to the Butterfly Valley (Peta Loudhes) which was a m a z i n g. Even though I was very timid the whole time I was there, it was a wonderful experience as I had never seen so many butterflies in one place. You probably won't believe this, but as I walked down the hill in my big floppy hat, I must have touched the wall where the little creatures were resting AND THEY ALL FLEW INTO ME! I am not joking - there must have been hundreds of Red Admiral butterflies around me and I screamed and ran off. Yup, I ran off because I'm a scaredy cat and don't like no bugs near me!! I'll add pictures of the little ones in an upcoming post, so stay tuned!

We visited the famous 'Seven Springs' which is a beautiful forest on a mountain with 7 streams with drinkable water. This is perfect for those without children as you have to climb up quite high in order to see all streams and the animals that live up the mountains. We saw goats, ducks, swans and peacocks. I think the peacocks made me the most excited about the whole trip! The bus there and back only cost us 5 euros each, which is an amazing bargain.

Another beautiful place to visit is Calithea Springs - an old spa with cute little fountains everywhere. It's around 3 euros each way to get there and another 3 to get in, so it is best if you go there for a whole day as the city of Calithea has 3 beautiful beaches that Kieran and I had also visited.

You cannot go to Rhodes and not go on a boat trip to Lindos - it'll be just like committing a crime! We paid 25 euros each for the trip there and back, unfortunately[ snacks and drinks weren't included in the price so I suggest you bring your own with you as the products sold on the boat were quite pricey! Thankfully we brought our cooler bag with us and packed it with sandwiches, snacks, and drinks!

Another important point I have to make about Lindos is that it looks exactly like Santorini!! I couldn't believe my eyes when we finally got there, it was so beautiful and I cannot wait to go back there again.

The gorgeous boats by the Lindos bay looked so cute I had to take a picture. What is a holiday without going on one of these and just keep swimming!

Make sure you go for a long walk down the strips and visit all the shops so you can find the best deal on souvenirs. I walked around every single shop at least twice before making my mind up on what to get for everyone! You can call me crazy, but I had to save money somehow!

Are you planning on going abroad this year? If so, where are you off to? Let me know in the comments down below!

Lots of love,
Maya xo
